Erickson: The Chris McDaniel Legacy Haunts the Republican Party

By Erick Erickson, Red State, September 8, 2015

Chris McDaniel ran for the United States Senate as a Republican. He won the Republican Primary in Mississippi, but was thrown into a runoff against Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS), the incumbent.

During the runoff, the Republican Party in Mississippi and Washington pulled out all the stops to stop McDaniel. They assailed outside conservative groups as malevolent influences in the Republican Party. They used friends in the news media to attack conservatives who strayed from the party line. [Read more…]

Campaign Rewind: Donald Trump Supported Chris McDaniel Against Thad Cochran

With the big Fox News debate tonight, and as we begin to pick our favored candidates for the upcoming presidential campaign, it is noteworthy to point out that, as we announced yesterday, Senator Ted Cruz will be coming to Mississippi next week to campaign and Senator McDaniel will be with him, and that Donald Trump threw his support behind Senator McDaniel last year against Thad Cochran.

Scott Walker Hires Brad Dayspring, Assailer of Chris McDaniel

As reported by Red State, Streiff (Diary):

Scott Walker just dropped off my list of acceptable candidates. I like a lot about Governor Walker but people are policy. And his decision to hire Brad Dayspring, an unprincipled political operative who combines viciousness and incompetence in equal measures tells us a lot. [Read more…]

Clarion Ledger Still Covering for Cochran Election Fraud

By Ryan S. Walters | @ryanswalters73

On Saturday, Claude McInnis, Sr. passed away in Jackson. The Clarion Ledger ran a story on his death, praising him as “a public servant,” “a noted leader in the Democratic Party,” and a longtimeB9317810810Z.1_20150621195720_000_GNBB4UGT8.1-0 supporter of Jackson State, as well as his work with the youth in the city. The paper also ran several statements from city leaders, such as Mayor Tony Yarber, who praised McInnis as a “well respected” leader whose work on behalf of the Democratic Party “helped shape the political landscape in Hinds County.”

Yet in the write up for Mr. McInnis, the Clarion Liar never once mentioned that it was McInnis who accused Hinds County GOP chair Pete Perry of wanting to “break the law” and steal the election against Senator Chris McDaniel during the Mississippi Senate runoff on June 24, 2014. Sure, the paper once quoted McInnis as having said that but the quote came at the very end of an article and came from Breitbart, not from one of their own reporters. To my knowledge, they never did send anyone out to talk to McInnis about those allegations. [Read more…]

Thad Cochran’s Fundraiser Leads Hillary’s Campaign

During the great Mississippi Senate campaign of 2014, we discovered through Politico that Senator Thad Cochran was given a high-dollar fundraiser by lobbyists at the Podesta Group:

“PODESTA RAISES FOR COCHRAN: Downtowners are hosting a breakfast fundraiser for Sen.Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) at the offices of the Podesta Group. Podesta’s Peggy Binzel, Rebecca Edgar, Kimberley Fritts, Jim Dyer, Josh Holly, David Morgenstern, Randall Gerard, David Marin, Steve Northrup, Lauren Maddox, Elizabeth Morra, Missi Tessier, Sean McLaughlin, Stephen Rademaker, Mike Quaranta and Trey Hardin are all listed on the invite. The March 4 fundraiser will cost $2,000 for PACs and $1,000 for individuals.”

This particular entry was later pulled down by the folks at Politico, I’m guessing because of pressure from Cochran and his smear team, lest the people of Mississippi find out about it.  Luckily we grabbed it before they did. Senator McDaniel called on the Cochran campaign to explain their relationship with the Podesta Group, but like Cochran’s other questionable relationships (yes many others), his camp remained silent about it.  It seems he pretty much remained silent about everything during that campaign, even his own crappy record.

But, that aside, this seemed like a good day to point out that Mr. John Podesta serves as the chairman for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, with a write-up yesterday in the Washington Post.

And now we have Mrs. Clinton employing her own race-baiting strategy in a recent speech, so perhaps the Hillary-Podesta-Cochran-Barbour relationship is much closer than we imagined.

Senator Chris McDaniel Thanks Supporters On One Year Anniversary Of His Defeat of Thad Cochran

From the Facebook Page of Senator Chris McDaniel:

Hard to believe, but it has been one year ago tonight when conservatives across Mississippi, bruised and battered by a nasty campaign, came up victorious against 41-year-incumbent Thad Cochran, forcing a run-off three weeks later.

They called it a miracle. But we always knew, always had faith.

Thank you for standing by me. Thank you for being my friend. I will never forget your sacrifices. My family and I will forever be grateful for your trust and support.

We had a dream, and the dream is still with us.

God bless.

Unbelievable! Thad and Kay Shopping for Jewelry Two Days After Wife’s Funeral

Cochran-webber-2-ed-620x264

In an astounding piece in the New Albany on-line news magazine, it was reported that Senator Thad Cochran and Kay Webber were shopping for jewelry on December 18, 2014.  Aside from all the rumors that ran rampant during the Senate race last year of an illicit affair between Thad and Kay, this photograph was very telling.  Mrs. Rose Cochran passed away in December 12, 2014 and was buried on December 16 in New Albany.  Did Kay attend the funeral?
