McDaniel: Second Amendment An Individual Right

By Senator Chris McDaniel

Liberals will never tire in attempting to erode the Constitutional rights of gun owners.

Gun-control advocates complain that the founding fathers never intended firearms to go unregulated, invoking arguments made by United States Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer — a dissenter in the 2008 case of District of Columbia v. Heller, a Supreme Court decision which overturned a Washington, D.C. handgun ban.

As part of his dissent in Heller, Breyer argued that Madison only drafted the Second Amendment because some feared that Congress would call up the state militias and nationalize them. Madison only proposed the amendment, he maintained, to appease skeptics and to “get this document ratified.” [Read more…]

Senator Chris McDaniel Introduces New Bill – The Executive Order Protection Act

From Senator Chris McDaniel:

“It’s time for the states to push back This afternoon, I will be introducing the Executive Order Protection Act. It will prohibit any Mississippi agency or political subdivision from funding or enforcing any executive order issued by a president that is not affirmed by a vote of Congress and signed into law as proscribed by the United States Constitution.”

Defending the Second Amendment: The Establishment vs. Senator Chris McDaniel

By Ryan S. Walters

In his latest power grab, President Obama recently issued executive orders to curtail the Second Amendment rights of American citizens, all in the name of preventing mass shootings perpetrated bycaptain-john-parker criminals. His unlawful orders primarily concern background checks for private gun sales, even though such sales account for less than 1% of these types of instances.

Law-abiding citizens, and conservative states, are rightly concerned. Today Governor Phil Bryant announced that the state of Mississippi would move to protect gun rights from federal overreach, and he asked Representative Andy Gipson to introduce legislation in the House.

“From Day 1, the Obama Administration has gone out of its way to try to eliminate the constitutional rights granted by the Second Amendment,” Gov. Bryant said in his statement. “The President’s latest attempt to bypass Congress to further his anti-gun agenda is particularly outrageous. I will do everything in my power to safeguard law-abiding citizens’ right to keep and bear arms, and I appreciate Rep. Gipson advancing legislation to do just that.”

However, just such a bill could have already been on the books, for the exact same legislation has been proposed during the last three legislative sessions from the pen of Senator Chris McDaniel. [Read more…]

Senator Chris McDaniel’s Incomparable Legislative Record

Ryan S. Walters | @ryanswalters73

As the 2015 state campaign heats up, there are those in the political establishment who seem hell bent on trashing Senator Chris McDaniel and tarnishing his reputation as a skilled and principledChris McDaniel legislator. They seek to portray him as an extremist and a do-nothing senator who has his eye on running for high office rather than on his job representing the people in Jones and Forrest Counties. Nothing could be further from the truth.

In a very brief summary of his legislative achievements thus far in two terms of service in the Mississippi Senate, anyone can see that Senator McDaniel’s record is an exemplary promotion of true conservatism. [Read more…]

HATTIESBURG, Mississippi — A new poll from WPA Research shows conservative Mississippi state Sen. Chris McDaniel has shot up to an eight-point lead, outside the margin of error, over Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) a little over a week from the runoff election.

The poll of 500 likely GOP primary runoff voters has McDaniel leading Cochran 49 percent to 41 percent, with 10 percent undecided. McDaniel beat Cochran in the primary about two weeks ago, getting 1,300 more votes.

The poll was conducted June 9 to June 10 and has a margin of error of 4.4 percent.

Now, heading into the runoff, WPA Opinion Research’s Ryan Steusloff wrote in a memo to interested parties about the new Mississippi polling days, “It is clear Chris McDaniel is well positioned to win on June 24th.” [Read more…]

Hey Mississippi. You know Michael Bloomberg right? He’s the guy who wants to take your guns away. He’s the guy who created a non-profit group to agitate against the second amendment. He’s the guy spreading lies about the number of school shootings in the country.

Michael Bloomberg is also the guy who just gave a pro-Thad Cochran Super PAC $250,000.00. Gun grabbing Michael Bloomberg is trying to buy Thad Cochran’s re-election.

Who do you think Thad Cochran will stand with the next six years if he gets re-elected. You people or the man who bought his re-election?

That’s 250,000 reasons to vote for Chris McDaniel.
