Senator Chris McDaniel Pens Open Letter to Mississippi Conservatives, Steven Palazzo Breathes Sigh of Relief

From Senator Chris McDaniel:

Dear Friends,

For months, friends and supporters have been asking me to run for Congress against Steven Palazzo. Such requests have only intensified in light of Steven’s inexplicable support of President Obama’s disastrous budget, whereby many Congressional Republicans (including Mississippi’s entire GOP delegation) voted to fully fund the president’s liberal agenda, including Obamacare, Planned Parenthood, sanctuary cities, climate change, refugee resettlement programs and his unconstitutional executive orders.

Put simply, the Omnibus Spending Bill they supported did not honor the promises they made to the men and women who elected them. Instead, the bill adopted the big-government agenda of Democrats and effectively forfeited our Republican victories of 2014, while cementing Obama’s priorities for nearly the full remainder of his term.

Ninety-five House Republicans displayed courage in fighting the president. But Mississippi’s delegation did not. Each of them surrendered without a fight and blindly supported President Obama in the same manner they blindly supported the failed leadership of House Speaker John Boehner. [Read more…]

John Boehner, GOP Establishment Betray Conservatives … Again

Mississippi’s Faux Conservatives Palazzo, Nunnelee, and Harper Support Bloated “Cromnibus” Spending Bill

By Ryan S. Walters

Are you shocked? You shouldn’t be. Those of us who are the true conservatives in our movement for limited government have known it all along, and we’ve said so, loudly at times. John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, and the rest of the Republican Establishment, which would also include Thad Cochran, are not conservatives. And the latest House omnibus spending bill is just more proof.

After a long night of arm-twisting and deal-making, and apparently lying, the House of Representatives, late last evening, pushed through Boehner’s 1,771 page omnibus spending bill, much to the chagrin, and the opposition of, the chamber’s conservative bloc.omnibuscartoon121114

The bill, which Boehner rushed to the floor without much time to consider it, a charge he hurled at Pelosi in 2009, spends $5.4 billion to fight Ebola here at home but also around the world; $948 million to help poor and uneducated illegal immigrants get established in the United States; and $500 million is provided for what it calls “appropriately vetted” Syrian rebels. It gives Social Security money to illegal aliens and contains a slew of earmarks, even though they were supposed to be banned.

It also adds $250 million more for the Environmental Protection Agency than even Obama requested. And it was the EPA’s funding and other provisions associated with it that made Democrats happy. Jim Moran of Virginia, a leftwing environmental fanatic, said Republicans “gave Democrats virtually everything we wanted” in the bill. [Read more…]

House Passes Bloated Omnibus Spending Bill, Mississippi Republicans Support

After an all day fight, the House of Representatives, with Obama’s support, has passed Speaker John Boehner’s ridiculous appropriations bill that averts a government shutdown and funds DC until next September.  Conservatives have blasted the bill for many of its features, including the full funding of Obama’s amnesty and its hefty price tag.  We will have more on this tomorrow.

In all, 67 Republicans voted against it but not one single member of Mississippi’s House delegation joined them.  All three of our illustrious representatives voted for it – Palazzo, Harper, and Nunnelee.  And they still try to convince us that they are conservatives!
