McDaniel: Conservatism in Mississippi

By Senator Chris McDaniel

From time to time, people ask about the governing philosophy of conservatism — particularly conservative thought in the State of Mississippi.

“What do conservatives in Mississippi believe?” they inquire.  “What drives your political viewpoints?” [Read more…]

Pseudo-Republican Blogger Joins Leftists in Attacking Senator Chris McDaniel

By Ryan S. Walters

Alan Lange, the founder of Y’all Politics, a Mississippi blog created to support Republicans, has stooped to a new low.  Despite the fact that his blog has been used as a promotional tool for Republican officials and candidates, Lange has made it clear that he’d rather spend his time attacking his fellow Republicans, especially those that are true conservatives, than he has pushing back against Democrats. Trump Courts the Establishment, Some Conservatives Feel Betrayed

By Ryan S. Walters | @ryanswalters73

Since his improbable victory over Hillary Clinton to claim the presidency, Donald Trump has begun the process of releasing the names of those he is appointing to top positions in his administration. Political insiders have always seen these early announcements as a key to determining the direction the new White House will ultimately take. And so far, as the earliest names were released, opposition is brewing. [Read more…]

McDaniel: Legislation Needed to Stop Obama’s Liberal School Agenda

By Ryan S. Walters | @ryanswalters73

In recent weeks, President Obama, less than a year from leaving office, announced new policies regarding the nation’s public schools, specifically the rights of students who identify as transgender, to use the bathroom, locker rooms, and showers of their choice, meaning the gender that they identify with, not with the genitalia they happen to possess at the moment.

The policy was a reaction to a state law passed in North Carolina that specified that one must use the restroom according to the gender of one’s birth. Wade: School Officials Challenged To Speak Up Against Obama

By Jerel Wade

I WILL NOT COMPLY! [Read more…]

McDaniel: HB 1523 Doesn’t Choose Sides in Debate Over Same-Sex Marriage

By Senator Chris McDaniel

As an initial matter, we are all sinners, and I love you all nevertheless. I am here only by the grace of God, ashamed of my own shortcomings, and not in judgment of anyone. But HB 1523 doesn’t address sin. It doesn’t judge. And it doesn’t choose sides in the ongoing cultural debate over homosexual marriage.|

Anyone who claims HB 1523 is discriminatory is not being sincere. [Read more…]

MS Senate Votes Unanimously For Senator Chris McDaniel’s Bill to End the Use of Campaign Money for Personal Expenses

From (WDAM):

The Mississippi Senate unanimously voted Wednesday to stop Mississippi candidates and elected officials from spending campaign money for personal use.

The Senate amended House Bill 797 to prohibit using campaign funds for “any use other than expenditures related to gaining or holding public office.”

“I’m pleased they took my amendment, and I was a bit surprised they adopted the amendment under the circumstances,” said Sen. Chris McDaniel. “The bill itself is a very encompassing bill, but I didn’t think it went far enough on campaign finance reform because what we’re seeing there is basically legalized corruption. It literally is legalized bribery.” [Read more…]
