From the Meridian Star:
In light of the NRA’s recent endorsement of Cindy Hyde-Smith, I think this is a good time to point out that the NRA has a policy that requires they only endorse incumbent candidates. Cindy Hyde-Smith did not win this endorsement because of her “pro-gun” stance. She won it because she was given the title of United States Senator, however brief that title may last.
Chris McDaniel has a lifelong A+ NRA rating. He attends gun rallies all throughout the state. Every other week, he’s posting a new picture on social media with a massive gun.
As a state senator, McDaniel sponsored legislation to require Mississippi to honor any valid concealed carry permit issued by another state. This bill, which was passed and signed into law, also grants the Department of Public Safety continued authority to enter into written reciprocity agreements with other states if those states require such an agreement before recognizing Mississippi carry permits.
As recently as this past 2018 legislative session, McDaniel voted against H.B. 1083, which would would prevent people with enhanced concealed carry permits from carrying guns into school or university athletic events.
Cindy Hyde-Smith? What has she done other than vote Democrat her entire life?
No one in Mississippi has been a stronger proponent for the Second Amendment than Chris McDaniel.
