Maya Angelou once had a wise saying, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them.” I’m convinced she was speaking of politics.
Over the past week, our esteemed governor has went on an anti-McDaniel rampage, even going as to say that Chris “Once had a promising future.” (As though Chris has one, regardless of the ring kissers of the world trying to destroy it). The governor should be reminded of a few things before he goes on the offensive again.
First, and most important, Tea Party people lined up by the truckloads to support him. When he first declared for governor, Dave Dennis was seen as more of an establishment person, and I supported Dave, because I thought we needed a business friendly governor. Nevertheless, conservatives felt they won huge with the victory of the now governor. Yet, his tenure feels anything but a victory. Common core is still law. We have people who want to push radical anti-gun laws, and he sits silent. Mississippi is still as poor as when he first took office, and to make matters worse, he endorsed Thad Cochran, the king of pork, pork which destroy the work ethics of so many and enriches the cronies in Washington and Jackson, at our expense.
Second it came to light that Thad Cochran was living with a woman other than his wife in 2014, and had been for quite some time. While Thad Cochran is an adult and has the freedom to do as he pleases, it’s worth noting Thad Cochran never divorced his wife, while still dating his current wife. The governor, had nothing to say. Should we forget the late Billy Jack McDaniel, who was portrayed as a victim of the greed of Chris McDaniel. Thad’s people even went so far to say Chris stole Bill’y money from him, now mind you Billy wasn’t even in state to speak up for himself. Once again our ‘principled’ leader, sat silent. As it came to light that churches were shills for Thad’s many PACs, deafening silence. Why? Where has this boldness come from to attack a fellow conservative? Should we not honor the unspoken spoken 11th Commandment? Why does he now feel the need to be so demeaning and hurtful to Chris, who has been nothing but a friend and ally in the fight?
Thirdly, it should come as no surprise that the governor is looking forward to 2019. Even though he could never be governor again, he wants to stay in the world of politics, and still and have pull. We shouldn’t be caught off guard, politicians will always care about themselves first, without debate or question. All along the way, the revelation of true colors has occurred, and as sad as it is, the truth of the matter is conservatives are the minority in the fight to restore liberty. Which is why we need more fighters in Washington D.C., not less. That fighter is here, and he has made himself known, his name is Chris McDaniel, and we as the people of Mississippi can win this fight, and we will win this fight. So don’t lose hope, and don’t be saddened, be thankful we know our enemies now, so that we won’t be shocked later.
