Billionaire and liberal Democratic activist Sean Parker has donated $250,000 to the Mississippi Victory Fund, which is Appointed Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith’s PAC exclusively supporting her bid in the November special election against Chris McDaniel.
The Mississippi Victory Fund PAC is headed by Merle Flowers, a McDaniel-hating former state senator, but interestingly the address of the office listed for the PAC is the same as Capitol Resources, the Barbour’s lobbying firm in Jackson. The PAC is exclusively for Cindy Hyde-Smith and has done nothing but smear Senator McDaniel.
Co-founder of Napster and Facebook’s first president, Parker is worth an estimated $2.4 billion and is a consistent backer of leftwing causes, particularly on gun control and amnesty.
In 2014 he began to donate heavily in order to get an amnesty bill passed in Congress. And he’s always supported gun control efforts. He helped support California’s Proposition 63 proposal that would require a background check to purchase ammunition and also donated heavily to a background check proposal in Nevada.
In 2012 he got behind the “Occupy” movement, joining with Al Gore to call for a new online venture – “Occupy Democracy.” He told the press, “My hope is the Internet can do for the political process what it did for the copyright industries.” Or, in other words, using the Internet to push radical liberalism and elect more progressive candidates.
The Los Angeles Times made note of his contributions to Democrats. “He gives generously to Democratic Party accounts. He opened his house to Clinton donors.” And to Hillary herself. He hosted a number of major fundraisers for Hillary Clinton in 2016. One fundraiser at Parker’s home that June netted Mrs. Clinton a cool million for her campaign coffers. For his part, Parker chipped in $300,000 in the 2016 campaign against Donald Trump.
Parker has written big checks to big-time liberal Democrats like California Governor Jerry Brown, California’s radical US Senator Kamala Harris, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel (who worked in the Clinton White House), San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, and was Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe’s biggest contributor, with a $500,000 donation to his gubernatorial campaign in 2013. It should be noted that McAuliffe is a major Clinton crony.
So now Parker wants to help stop Chris McDaniel a second time by backing the Establishment’s choice, as well as the candidate of the Chamber of Commerce, Appointed Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith. Does Parker believe he can count on Hyde-Smith to help his gun control activism? We now know that she has supported gun control as Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce, so perhaps Parker feels he can trust her on this issue. Or pressure her with big checks, for if she wins, she will owe him a lot.
But one thing is for sure: Sean Parker knows Chris McDaniel is dangerous to his cause of advancing liberalism. He knows McDaniel can’t be bought and is a rock-solid supporter of the Second Amendment, concealed carry, open carry, and will not support any gun control measures. So Parker is writing big checks to try to stop McDaniel again so he can further erode the Second Amendment.
Let’s connect the dots:
Cindy Hyde-Smith was a longtime Democrat.
Cindy Hyde-Smith voted for Hillary Clinton.
Sean Parker is a lifelong Democrat.
Sean Parker funded Hillary Clinton.
Sean Parker now funds Cindy Hyde-Smith.
But Cindy Hyde-Smith wants you to believe she supports President Trump. Don’t be fooled. The evidence suggests otherwise and is just another sign that Cindy Hyde-Smith can’t be trusted to truthfully serve the state of Mississippi as a United States Senator.
