In a fundraiser set for next week, Appointed Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith is charging a large sum of cash for the public to gain access to her. Set in Biloxi for August 17, she is charging average citizens $250 per couple – which is too much for working Mississippians to afford – but, if you have the dough, and you want greater access, you can certainly get it. “Purchasing” the title of “Chairman” will cost you more than $10,000, for example. This is obscene on so many levels. She charges for access to her and rarely meets with common folks.
By contrast, Chris McDaniel does not charge for events. His policy is one of open access. He will meet with anyone, or any group, in any part of the state that wants to meet with him. And he won’t charge you to do it either. This is a policy he will keep when he is elected to the US Senate.
This latest news is just another example of the vast difference between the two Republican candidates. Chris McDaniel is a “Man of the People” who represents the average Mississippian and who wants to reform Washington DC. Cindy Hyde-Smith is a creature of the Establishment, wedded to big money donors, who will maintain the status quo.
Say what you will, but you will NEVER see an invitation like this one from Chris McDaniel.
